Austin Stack Pancakes 🥞

A weekend brunch tower of buttermilk pancakes with crisp brown edges, a pound of butter melting down the stack and syrup pooling on the plate.

Texas American ⏱ 25 min Facile

Méthode

  1. 1

Whisk flour, baking powder, soda, sugar and salt in a big bowl.

  2. 2

Beat egg with buttermilk and melted butter, then pour into the dry mix and stir until barely combined — lumps are good.

  3. 3

Rest the batter for 10 minutes while a dry griddle heats over medium.

  4. 4

Ladle rounds onto the griddle with a knob of butter; flip when the bubbles pop and stay open.

  5. 5

Stack three or four high, set a cold slab of butter on top and flood with warm maple syrup.
